Today's Word
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.”
Reflection
Love is explained not with adjectives but with verbs. It is patient, it is kind, it does not envy. It shows that love is not a feeling but an action — a love possible even on days the feeling has cooled.
Half of what is listed is the negative form: "does not." Love is not only adding something, but also subtracting boasting and pride. Love enters the place you empty.
If there is a relationship where love feels dry, rather than waiting for a great emotion, bear one thing today. Love grows not from an overwhelming heart but from small choices.
