Today's Word

1 Peter 3:7

Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
1 Peter 3:7 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

Peter wrote to husbands that they should live with their wives "according to knowledge." Not merely sharing a roof, but living together while coming to understand the person at your side. Love grows not from a vague feeling but from the knowing that takes another into account.

Calling her a delicate vessel is no insult to weakness. As one handles a precious vessel with extra care, so the call is to attend more closely. And she is named a fellow heir of the same grace of life — a companion to walk beside, not above or below.

Ask today how well you truly know the person closest to you. Consider what they love and what wears them down. To honor someone does not stop at a feeling held in the heart; it lands only when it shows itself in small acts of care.
