Prayers

A Prayer for Family

Sometimes the hardest people to pray for are the closest ones. We brush against them every day, our hearts grow tangled, and we worry as deeply as we love. A prayer for family can be the place where that tangled heart finds order.

Bring your spouse, your children, your parents to mind one by one, and entrust their day. Ask for help carrying the burdens of theirs you can't reach. The prayer and verses below become a vessel for the heart you hold toward home.

Prayer

A Prayer for Family

God, I bring the family I love before You.

Watch over their day, and grant them peace of heart and health of body.

The burdens I cannot see, would You carry them alongside.

Amen.

A Prayer for My Child

God, I place my child in God's hands.

Their heart, their friendships, their studies, their future — I admit I cannot guard it all by my own strength.

Awaiting the day they meet God, let me be a good parent today. Amen.

A Prayer for Aging Parents

God, I bring my aging parents before You.

Their health, their loneliness, their fading memory — I place it all in God's hands.

Let me visit them more often, and speak to them more warmly. Amen.
