Today's Word
Psalm 127:3
“Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.”
Reflection
Children are called a "heritage" and a "reward" of the LORD. A heritage is an inheritance handed down; a reward is a gift freely given. It is a way of seeing children not as possessions but as entrusted gifts.
An entrusted gift carries the responsibility of returning it. They are not objects to be shaped to my will, but a stewardship — raised well and pointed back to their true owner.
On a day when raising them feels heavy, remember this child is a gift placed in your hands. To possess is heavy, but to hold and raise lightens the load a little.
