Today's Word
Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Reflection
The time to train a child is in the early years of "the way he should go." Setting direction takes root the deeper the earlier it's done. A way worn into the body young, it's said, is not departed from in old age.
Teaching is passed more by the road than by words. A child walks the road the parent walks. What direction you lived toward lingers longer than what you said.
If you are in the place of raising children, remember that the one step you show today becomes that child's road later on. Not a perfect parent, but a parent walking toward the same direction, is enough.
