Today's Word
Isaiah 30:15
“For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said: “By repentance and rest you would be saved; your strength would lie in quiet confidence— but you were not willing.””
Reflection
To return and rest points in the opposite direction from "try harder." Faced with crisis, people usually move faster and reach for more controls. Yet here the way of salvation is offered as stillness and trust.
"Your strength would lie in quiet confidence." Strength comes not from busyness but from quiet. It is the paradox that only when you close your mouth and still your hands do you finally see what you can lean on.
When something refuses to come together, there is an urge to patch it with more action. Set that urge down for a moment. Look quietly at what you actually need now: another attempt, or one breath of stopping and entrusting.
