Today's Word
Isaiah 43:1
“But now, this is what the LORD says— He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine!”
Reflection
After "do not fear," the reasons line up one by one. I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are Mine. The way fear is handled here is not by suppressing the feeling but by retelling the relationship.
The phrase "called you by your name" feels especially near. You are not one of a crowd but someone called by name. Not anonymous in the multitude, but named by One who knows you precisely.
When anxiety comes, it often brings the sense that you don't quite belong anywhere. In that moment, read this one line slowly: you are Mine. When your sense of belonging shakes, the fact that there is One who calls you His own makes the ground beneath you firm again.
