Today's Word

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

The disciples stood in the children's way. They likely thought there were more important matters, that children could wait. Jesus drew back that hand and said not to hinder the children from coming to Him. He made plain that the small and weak are not last in line.

To let them come carries a welcome that asks for no qualifications. You do not have to attain something before drawing near; you are received as you are. A child is the one who enjoys that acceptance most simply.

Notice today whether you are measuring someone by their qualifications. See whether the smallest voice and weakest place in your home has been pushed aside. Welcome begins when the hindering hand is drawn back.
