Today's Word

Matthew 6:14-15

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.
Matthew 6:14-15 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

Being forgiven and forgiving are bound in one sentence. The forgiveness I received and the forgiveness I extend are not separate. Forgiveness is something that flows, not something that pools.

That you won't be forgiven unless you forgive can sound like a threat. But it is closer to the principle that grace received cannot stay in a closed heart. Through a blocked channel, even grace cannot flow.

On a day your heart is hardened by an unforgiven offense, recall the forgiveness you first received. In the place of letting what you received flow on, your own heart loosens too.
