Reflection
Within the same Proverbs, the line that a wise son brings joy to his father sounds again. The repetition is not accident but emphasis — a sign of how deep and how often a child's discernment gladdens a parent's heart in a home.
To bring joy is not to perform some service for a parent. The very sight of a child walking their road rightly becomes the parent's joy. The way a single piece of news that you are doing well can warm a parent's whole day.
Consider today whose joy you are becoming, or which part of you weighs on someone close. Not some grand act of devotion, but a single day lived rightly already reaches the one who loves you.
