Proverbs 2:3-5
“if you truly call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding, if you seek it like silver and search it out like hidden treasure, then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.”
Reflection
Proverbs does not picture the path to wisdom as quiet waiting. It says to call out with a raised voice, to seek as one mines for silver, to search as for hidden treasure. Wisdom does not drift in on its own; it opens to the one who seeks with the whole heart.
The one mining silver digs and digs again. The one searching for treasure does not give up easily. The posture toward wisdom is to be the same. Where we ask once or twice and turn away because no answer came, we rarely meet anything deep.
Bring to mind one thing you long to understand today. Ask whether you are seeking it with the heart of one truly digging it out, or only waiting for an easy answer. The very posture of earnest seeking may already be the doorway to wisdom.
