Psalm 115:14

Reflection

This blessing carries a vision that reaches past one generation. Not only you, but your children too; not only those beside you now, but faces yet to come. It is the longing for good things to keep flowing rather than stop with us.

Increase is more than growing numbers. It includes the texture of faith and life being handed on and taking root in the next person. The plain day you are living now can become someone else's starting point, and that quietly adds weight to ordinary hours.

Bring to mind those who will follow after you today. A child, a younger friend, someone you have not yet met. Sit a moment with the one thing you would want to plant now for their sake.
