Today's Word
Psalm 142:3
“Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.”
Reflection
"Although my spirit grows faint" does not hide the moment the heart caves in. The psalmist doesn't pretend to be fine; he lays his own disarray out in the open.
In that place he holds onto one thing. "You know my way." Even when he cannot find the path, there is One who knows exactly where he is wandering. The one who is lost and the One who knows him stand in very different places.
There are days when no direction appears. On those days, rather than straining to sketch a path yourself, remember that there is One who already knows your way. Being lost does not mean you have been forgotten.
