Psalm 34:4

I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

David records what he did with one plain verb: he sought. No ritual, no qualifying conditions — he simply carried his blocked heart to God as it was. This reads less like a prayer for fear to vanish, and more like opening his mouth while still holding it.

The confession that follows is that God answered. And what He delivered was not one or two things but "all my fears" — not just the large dread singled out, but the small unnameable anxieties gathered up alongside it.

Today, choose one fear that presses on you and say it aloud. Before reaching for a solution, simply begin by setting that fear down before God. A cry does not have to be a tidy prayer.
