Today's Word
Psalm 40:1
“I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry.”
Reflection
"I waited patiently" carries the weight of a wait repeated, not a single moment. The doubling of the word holds the full length of a delay — a sign that David too grew anxious before an answer that was slow to come.
What he saw at the end of that long wait was that God inclined to him. Not hearing from afar and moving on, but bending down toward the cry. Being heard is drawn here not as distance but as nearness.
If an answer feels slow right now, remember that the waiting itself is not proof of abandonment. Today, instead of rushing the reply, rest for a moment in this one line: the cry is already reaching.
