Today's Word
Psalm 63:8
“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”
Reflection
Two hands appear here: mine, clinging, and the Lord's, holding. For the soul to cling to God looks like staying close with all one's might, refusing to be pulled away — which is also to say, out of urgency.
Yet what sustains that grip is not the strength of my grasp. It is God's right hand that upholds me. Even while I tremble, afraid of slipping, a larger hand is already bearing my weight. The one who holds is stronger than the one who clings.
If you are tensed today, braced against losing something, take a moment to notice that strain. Not everything rests on your grip. Remember the hand that already supports you, and let your shoulders ease a little.
