Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

It is striking that the One knocking stands outside. He does not announce that He is coming in; He knocks and waits. The handle is on the inside. Whether the door opens is left to the person within.

What lingers is where the invitation lands: "to eat with them." Not a guest who stops by briefly, but the kind of closeness where two people sit across a table and share a meal. Eating together is the most ordinary and the most intimate of settings. What He wants is not a visit but a seat at the table.

If there is a door of the heart you have kept closed, picture who is standing before it. A door is not broken open from outside; it opens from within. The knocking continues even now.
