“Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Reflection
"Carry one another's burdens" is followed by "you will fulfill the law of Christ." Sharing each other's weight is itself the practice of the love He taught.
There are burdens to bear alone and burdens to bear together. The heart that tries to handle everything alone looks strong but runs against the principle of community. To lend your shoulder, and sometimes lean on another's, is the way of living together.
On a day someone beside you looks overwhelmed, lift one corner of their load. And remember there is a shoulder to lean on when you are heavy too. A shared burden is lighter than one person's.
