Today's Word
Romans 12:5
“so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another.”
Reflection
Many people, in Christ, become "one body," members belonging to one another. The image of a body reveals the essence of community. As hand and foot do not compete, members don't replace or push each other out.
To become members means to belong to one another. When I am weak another member holds me up; when I am strong I hold another. Not independence but connection is the principle of the body.
When the urge rises to carry everything alone, recall that I am one member of one body. You don't have to bear every role yourself. Only together are we whole.
