Reflection
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." It measures the size of love not by feeling but by what is given up. The greatest love shows in the greatest giving.
Jesus showed this not in word but in the life He laid down. A love not stopping at words but proven with His life. That love becomes the standard for our loving one another.
On a day it's hard to give up anything for someone, this verse names the measure of love again. Love is not what you feel but what you give. One small act of giving grows to resemble the shape of great love.
