Today's Word

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

"You are the light of the world." Not a call to become light but a declaration that you already are. You don't become light by qualifying; you've already been called so.

Light is not hidden. As a city on a hill is seen, as a lamp is not put under a basket, light exists to be revealed. To shine, not to conceal, is the light's calling.

On a day you wonder what light your small life could be, recall that light shines not by size. In a dark room, even one small lamp is clear. To shine where you stand today is enough.
