Matthew 5:9
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
Reflection
"Blessed are the peacemakers." Not those who enjoy peace but those who make it are called blessed. Beyond avoiding conflict, it is the active place of mending a broken relationship.
They "will be called sons of God," it says — because making peace is to resemble His character. The one who steps into a quarrel to mend it grows to resemble Him.
On a day you'd rather pass conflict by unnoticed, recall that peace is something made. One step of bridging a broken relationship despite the discomfort is the place of blessing.
