Reflection

This verse does not scold the making of plans. To plan a way in your heart is natural and necessary. It only asks you to remember, alongside it, that there is One who directs the steps.

Planning and being led do not collide. You give your best to the design, while receiving that a greater hand rests over it. The frustration that comes when plans don't unfold often grows from the belief that my design is everything.

Hold today's plan, but don't grip it too tightly. When the road turns out differently than expected, leave room for it to be not a failure but a different leading.
