Proverbs 4:22

Reflection

The words of wisdom are "life to those who find them and health to the whole body." It's a view where the soul's nourishment reaches even the body. What you take to heart and the body's health are not unrelated.

The condition "to those who find them" is attached. The benefit comes to the one who grasps and keeps them, not the one who hears and lets them slip. The word is not to be stored away but to be worked into the body.

On a day the heart is weary and the body heavy, don't seek the remedy only outside. Recall that the word taken to heart becomes a channel of life and health.
