Today's Word

Psalm 28:7

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I give thanks to Him with my song.
Psalm 28:7 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

"My strength and my shield." Strength is the power that moves you forward; a shield is the protection that guards you. Offense and defense are entrusted to the same One. There's no need to seek the two elsewhere.

"I am helped" is past tense. Not a vague expectation but the confession of help already experienced. That experience becomes the ground for trusting again.

On a day what must be faced and what must be guarded press in at once, seek strength and shield from the same One. The memory of help already received supports today's trust.
