Today's Word
1 Corinthians 15:55
““Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?””
Reflection
"O Death, where is your victory?" This question to death is not fear but challenge. To the most dreaded of all, it asks where its victory is. It is the boldness of one who knows death is not the end.
Asking where death's sting is presupposes that the sting has already been drawn. Under the light of resurrection, death becomes not the final word but a door passed through.
When everything seems meaningless before death, this verse moves the gaze beyond it. That even death is not the final scene casts a different light on today's sorrow.
