Today's Word
John 11:25-26
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?””
Reflection
Jesus doesn't leave resurrection only as a future event. He says in the present tense, "I am the resurrection and the life." It is the declaration that resurrection is not a distant promise but Himself.
That the one who believes will live though he dies doesn't deny death. It is the promise that you pass through death, yet it is not the end. When the Lord of life is near, even death fails to be the final boundary.
In the place of having sent off a loved one, or facing your own end, hold onto this declaration. Resurrection, before it is a someday event, is the name of the One present now.
