Reflection

To cast your anxiety doesn't mean the anxiety is light. It is a word spoken from the place of admitting it's too heavy to carry alone. To cast is to release from your hand and set into another's.

The ground for casting it is that He cares for you. You are not hurling a load at someone indifferent, but handing it to the One already watching over you. You can entrust nothing to one who doesn't care.

Name the anxieties resting on your heart today, one by one. Then slowly open the hand that holds them. Casting is not done once — it repeats daily — but with each repetition the hand grows lighter.
