Today's Word
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.””
Reflection
These are Moses' words to the people at the edge of the wilderness. Even facing Canaan, the fear was still there. The command to be strong and courageous is given not to those without fear but to those standing before it.
The ground of the command is presence. "The LORD your God goes with you," and "He will never leave you nor forsake you." The source of courage is not your nerve but the One who walks alongside.
The thought that you must face it alone is what magnifies fear. Before the thing you meet today, remember you are not the only one in that place. The company that never leaves is the bedrock of courage.
