Today's Word
Psalm 27:1
“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— whom shall I dread?”
Reflection
David asks two questions: whom shall I fear, whom shall I dread? They are not questions seeking an answer but questions that already hold one. When light is near, measuring the size of the darkness becomes pointless.
Fear often comes not from the size of the threat but from the feeling of being alone. The confession that the One who is light and salvation and the strength of life is with you collapses that isolation.
Bring to mind what shrinks you today. Instead of measuring yourself against it, measure it against the One who is with you. The place where size belongs is rearranged.
