Lamentations 3:22-23
“Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!”
Reflection
Lamentations was written over ruins. From the heart of a fallen city and deep despair, the poet confesses that mercy and compassion never fail. It is not the denial of despair but a light found within it.
"New every morning" brings comfort. Yesterday's failure does not follow you into today. Each morning begins with a fresh portion of mercy.
If you are crushed under the weight of past days, remember that this morning is a place of new compassion. Faithfulness does not end with yesterday; it is renewed day after day.
