Today's Word

Matthew 7:7

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

Ask, seek, knock — three verbs that grow stronger. They picture not quiet waiting but an active drawing near. Prayer is not passive resignation but an active knocking.

A promise is attached to each verb: it will be given, you will find, it will be opened. The answer is bound to the asking. A door not knocked on stays closed.

When the answer feels slow, this verse urges you not to stop. Keep asking, don't give up seeking, keep knocking. There is a door that opens at the end of persistent knocking.
