Today's Word
Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Reflection
We are told to approach the throne of grace "with confidence." A throne is usually a place of dread, but here it becomes a place of boldness — because it is a seat of grace, not a seat of judgment.
The purpose of approaching is clear: to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. You go not to prove your worthiness but to ask for help.
If you've ever hesitated in the place of prayer because of your lack, remember that place is not judgment but the throne of grace. Grace to help in time of need is prepared in advance, waiting for you.
