Today's Word
Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
Reflection
This verse is often quoted as a line of self-confidence, as if you could accomplish anything. But read in context, the strength Paul speaks of is not achievement but endurance. It comes at the end of a confession that he knows both how to abound and how to be brought low.
The heart of it is that the source of strength is not me but "Christ who gives me strength." You don't hold on because you're strong; you remain unbroken because you are held, even while weak.
If something feels too heavy to carry today, ask whether you've been shouldering it alone. Strength is not the power to overwhelm a situation, but the support that keeps you standing in any of them.
