“Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Reflection
"Give thanks in every circumstance" doesn't mean every situation is worth being thankful for. It is a call to find the one thing to be thankful for within every situation — a promise that there is always a place for thanks, not always a reason.
This is named as "God's will." Not some grand mission, but everyday gratitude is His will. Before wandering far to find His purpose, count one thing to be thankful for today.
Gratitude is not a reaction that comes once things improve, but a gaze practiced daily. Take one thing from the most ordinary day and turn it into thanks.
