Today's Word
John 14:1
““Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well.”
Reflection
"Do not let your hearts be troubled" is followed at once by "believe." Strikingly, the opposite of worry is not calm but faith. It is not suppressing the worry but shifting the gaze.
The object of faith is clear. Believe in God, and believe in Me as well. Not vague optimism but a question of whom you lean on. What you hold onto changes the weight of worry.
On a day the heart is in disarray, before straining to put it in order, examine whom you are looking to. Worry yields its place only when faith moves in.
