Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7 (Berean Standard Bible)

Reflection

This verse is the promise that follows the call to prayer. The peace of God is given in the place where worry has been exchanged for prayer — a peace described as surpassing all understanding.

To surpass understanding means it arrives even in situations that don't make sense. It is not a peace that comes once everything is explained, but one that guards the heart before any explanation.

That peace is pictured as a guard over heart and mind. When anxiety knocks at the door, it is not your explanation but that peace that keeps the door. Move the place you can't make sense of into prayer today.
