Today's Word
Psalm 37:7
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes.”
Reflection
"Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him." Stillness and waiting stand side by side. Trust shows not in busy movement but in coming to a stop.
The next line says do not fret when the wicked prosper. Waiting is often hard precisely when you see another's prospering. Stillness is also the work of stopping comparison and keeping your own place.
On a day impatience presses in, rather than doing more, wait quietly. Waiting is not doing nothing; it is the most active posture of trusting the One who goes ahead.
